Higher participation
More pupils actively involved, with less standing, waiting and opting out.
PRACTICAL ENGAGEMENT FOR SCHOOLS
Inclusive programmes, practical CPD and high-energy sessions designed so every child has a meaningful role and a reason to take part.
WHAT SCHOOLS CAN EXPECT
More pupils actively involved, with less standing, waiting and opting out.
Quick wins and visible recognition help pupils feel capable and valued.
Activities develop communication, cooperation and positive group roles.
Clear expectations, purposeful challenge and recognition create better engagement.
Pupils practise responding positively to mistakes, pressure and setbacks.
Activities can be adapted for SEND, alternative provision and mixed ability groups.
WHY THE ENGAGEMENT COACH EXISTS
Long lines. Too much talking. The same confident pupils always taking the lead. Others slowly switching off.
The Engagement Coach was created to challenge that pattern. The approach is simple: reduce waiting, create meaningful roles, make success achievable and recognise effort, courage and improvement.
“People engage when they feel included, capable and valued.”
Connection before correction. Energy before expectation. Participation before perfection.
THE 6-WEEK ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMME
Listening, instructions, patience and body language.
Roles, support, cooperation and inclusion.
Responsibility, decisions and leading by example.
Responding positively to pressure, mistakes and setbacks.
Planning, adapting, trial and error, and group decisions.
Apply all five skills and celebrate progress with certificates, medals and reward cards.
THE REWARD CARD SYSTEM
Every week, pupils can be recognised with professionally designed Reward Cards for effort, courage, communication, teamwork, resilience, leadership and improvement. A minimum of three cards are presented at the end of each week, with certificates and selected medals used to celebrate graduation and programme completion.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PROGRAMME
The 6-Week Engagement Programme has been developed through more than 10 years of hands-on experience, guidance from many mentors and delivery across schools, community projects and a wide range of specialist settings. Every lesson learned has helped shape what Louis believes is the most complete and meaningful version of the programme.
It goes far beyond sport or games. Pupils take part in inclusive challenges that develop resilience, teamwork, leadership, communication and problem-solving, while encouraging them to face fears, recover from setbacks and recognise their own progress.
The programme also creates champions. Completion is formally recognised, while additional awards celebrate pupils whose achievements may not always be obvious — including those who overcome personal barriers, show courage or make meaningful progress against the challenges they face each day.
CPD & STAFF DEVELOPMENT
Practical workshops help teachers, coaches and youth workers understand behaviour, lead with energy, design for participation and build recognition into delivery.
SATURDAY CLUB • SIDCUP / BEXLEY AREA
A full-day 8am–6pm Saturday experience built around choice, ownership, sport, practical skills and adventure.
Children are given genuine ownership of their day. Rather than being pushed through one fixed programme, they are offered multiple activity choices and encouraged to try new things, take leadership roles and help shape their Saturday.

“I was apprehensive about booking the CPD course at first. Louis was inspiring, engaging and left a lasting impression on our staff. It was practical, full of real-life examples, we joined in with the activities, and received an equipment bag alongside a session plan handbook.”

“No two weeks were the same. Every session had a purpose. The staff were patient and took the time to understand everyone. Definitely a popular choice in our school.”
