WHAT SCHOOLS CAN EXPECT

Clear outcomes. Practical delivery. Every child involved.

Higher participation

More pupils actively involved, with less standing, waiting and opting out.

Improved confidence

Quick wins and visible recognition help pupils feel capable and valued.

Better teamwork

Activities develop communication, cooperation and positive group roles.

Positive behaviour

Clear expectations, purposeful challenge and recognition create better engagement.

Greater resilience

Pupils practise responding positively to mistakes, pressure and setbacks.

Every child included

Activities can be adapted for SEND, alternative provision and mixed ability groups.

WHY THE ENGAGEMENT COACH EXISTS

Too many sessions lose people before they ever get the chance to succeed.

Long lines. Too much talking. The same confident pupils always taking the lead. Others slowly switching off.

The Engagement Coach was created to challenge that pattern. The approach is simple: reduce waiting, create meaningful roles, make success achievable and recognise effort, courage and improvement.

THE CORE BELIEF
“People engage when they feel included, capable and valued.”

Connection before correction. Energy before expectation. Participation before perfection.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PROGRAMME

More than activities — a carefully shaped journey of personal growth.

The 6-Week Engagement Programme has been developed through more than 10 years of hands-on experience, guidance from many mentors and delivery across schools, community projects and a wide range of specialist settings. Every lesson learned has helped shape what Louis believes is the most complete and meaningful version of the programme.

It goes far beyond sport or games. Pupils take part in inclusive challenges that develop resilience, teamwork, leadership, communication and problem-solving, while encouraging them to face fears, recover from setbacks and recognise their own progress.

The programme also creates champions. Completion is formally recognised, while additional awards celebrate pupils whose achievements may not always be obvious — including those who overcome personal barriers, show courage or make meaningful progress against the challenges they face each day.

CPD & STAFF DEVELOPMENT

Give staff methods they can use in their very next session.

Practical workshops help teachers, coaches and youth workers understand behaviour, lead with energy, design for participation and build recognition into delivery.

  • Connection before correction
  • No standing in lines
  • Short instructions and fast starts
  • Challenge everyone, exclude no one
  • Reflect, reward and repeat
